I have owned Great Danes since 1979 and have been competing in the show ring with them since 1998. Two of them have attained
their AKC Championships. First and foremost my danes have been my companions. It is no small task to teach a dane to live
in harmony in your home and it is a never ending challenge, but the effort is rewarded by having your dane look in your eyes
with a look that says that you are their hero and leader and they trust you totally. Having a dane is not just owning a pet.
It is a hobby. Like other hobbies it takes a good deal of your time and money. It requires knowledge and patience and you
do it all for your sense of accomplishment.
